Launching Ireland’s most supable lager
“Working with KOR allowed us to be true to our roots when designing our beer. Dundalk has a rich history of brewing and distilling, and our wee stubby is the perfect combo of the past and present of Dundalk, with the design featuring a special nod to the pub.”
The business
Mo Chara, has become a hub of the community in the northeast, offering top notch pizzas and one of the widest ranges of craft beers in Ireland. Now the lads are expanding their business by bringing a wee taste of Dundalk to the masses.

What we did
Mo Chara is a listed building in a town with a proud brewing history. The design of the newest chapter in Dundalk’s beer story needed to reflect where it’s come from. Mo Chara Lager - Lager na Daoine (The People’s Lager) takes visual cues from the classic label artwork of the Great Northern Brewery in Dundalk from the 1890’s, along with nods to the interior of the Mo Chara premises which was built in 1902.
The product design is an extension of the brand and has been comprehensively thought out with small, memorable details in the labelling on the stubby bottles and easy to grab packaging for a carry out of heading to a house party.
Lager na Daoine is another part of the overall picture of Mo Chara where they showcase the best arts and culture from the region by creating a space that encourages collaboration and celebrates the creators, through musical performances by local artists.
Capturing the craic behind the beer, a full suite of photos that cover the design elements, people behind the beer, and most importantly, the beer being drank sets Mo Chara up with content for the longterm.
Already used across social media, press releases, and sales pitches, the photos let people know what they’re in for before they’ve even cracked open their first beer.
The takeaways
Mo Chara Lager marks what’s possible with a longterm partnership. KOR has been involved since the very beginning of Mo Chara and has helped it establish itself as a business and grow into one that’s good enough to launch its own lager nationwide.
